The Truth or Something Beautiful

So, we may not have been completely honest. As many people may have noticed, there has been no podcast series, which we promised would start in September.

This is the part, where I can tell you the truth or something beautiful. The truth is, Adi and I have been busy this past couple of months. That's it. I wish it was beautiful.

This project started as a way to continue and encourage discussions about the YMCA, both locally and nationally. Ultimately, Adi and I are proud of what we all did. All the stories, interviews, and 60 second movements we did, were heard by people around the world, everyone involved should be proud of that.

Fortunately, our time has been taken up by our own YMCAs and other priorities we needed to address. I have just been speaking to Adrian on the phone, and we have decided to take this moment to apologise to everyone, and work towards releasing a podcast, as a Christmas special, and hopefully start a new series in the new year.

It's been a great year for the YMCA, as we celebrate our 170th Anniversary, so hopefully we can end it with a bang.

So there should be a Christmas special for you to enjoy.

Until next time I need to apologise

Gareth

The Introduction.

Well, this is number one. For some people who may have seen blog posts on here before, let me first start at the beginning.

A big idea from a humble man, started off the podcast series you all know and I hope, starting to love. Sadly, we didn't resolve a large issue at the beginning, which was "where to store the podcasts indefinitely" Our previous provider gave us limitations which meant after a few months, episodes would disappear. Now while Adi and I recorded the podcasts "live" every week, we do not feel they'll become dated and the interviews, stories, 60 Second Movement and so on, reflect the subject at the time. When Tinna and Andre told us about YES a couple of months ago, it's still relevant today, and we'd still like to be able to provide that podcast for people to listen to, along with the others.

So, after a lot of Google searching, Friday evenings of Adi and I trying to find a host, we finally did and all our podcasts are on iTunes available to download https://itunes.apple.com/ch/podcast/y-pod/id906447336?l=en&mt=2 or from Podcast Garden here http://www.podcastgarden.com/podcast/ypod

This has left us with a Blogger account, we set up to upload our podcasts, but for the life of us, we couldn't manage to work out how to do it. (Please don't tell us how to do it now. Where were you in July!?!?) It's been decided to keep the account going and to use it to write about stuff we find interesting and as an aside to the podcast, which will be coming back sometime in September.

A small change is instead of being weekly, we've decided to move to a monthly schedule, for many reasons. The main one, we'd like to continue doing it regularly. Instead of doing twelve in two blocks of six weeks, we feel monthly podcasts give us, you guys and the world more time to enjoy the podcast and keeps us going regularly.

There will be a few minor changes in the show but I'll let you guess what they are :)
